Opportunities of integrated design
We provide integrated site planning and landscape design. This can be incorporated seamlessly into our architectural design services or provided as an independent service. This work extends from large scale planning to finely detailed garden design. We collaborate closely during the entire project with a professionally trained landscape designer with whom we have nearly a twenty year history. Alternatively, we can work with a consultant of your choice for plant selections and final details.

House surgically implanted in the landscape – This residence was built from entirely within the building footprint. The excavation, and foundation were executed from within the building. This left the topography and native plant material surrounding the building completely undisturbed.
Working with a mature landscape – This renovation included a master plan for updating a mature existing landscape on a relatively large lot. New natural granite retaining walls were added and infill planting was designed to blend with existing mature plantings.
New house woven into site – This new residence was carefully sited to preserve the native trees and landscape in a way that assured a cozy sense of privacy and also provided a commanding view.
Natural Landscape – Rustic, Cape Ann granite walk and wall are capped with integral lighting. This walkway is woven seamlessly into an undisturbed native woodland landscape.
Trees as part of the view - The existing trees were left untouched during the construction of this new house. Once the house was complete the owners went out on the deck and directed where the arborist should prune, branch by branch, until they had a commanding view, while preserving the trees and enhancing their storm resistance.
