Interior design
Our goal is to weave interior design into architectural design and landscape design. This approach creates a unified harmony and also makes modest size spaces feel more expansive. We tailor the “style” of each interior to the particular vision of the owner and to the opportunities of the site and unique location. We integrate color, decorative arts, and furniture design seamlessly into the design effort ensuring a coordinated harmonious end result.
Converted horse stable – A simply detailed, massive, rustic fireplace surround was created to blend with this historic timber and brick structure. The flanking built-ins were designed and given a rich patina to match the existing millwork.
Sunrise in an atrium – A variety of artists and artisans collaborated to create this vaulted gathering space. The colors and faux finishes suggest a rich play of light at sunrise.
Grand stair – Decorative spandrel panels and custom detailing create a stair with substantial presence in this new house designed in the classical revival style.
Cottage stair – The existing cottage stair was preserved but opened up toward the dining area to create better flow and sight lines between the existing living spaces. A simple built-in was added next to an existing closet so that the built-in, the stair, and the closet are then woven into one design element.
