Work Style
Our goal is to create a problem solving and design process that matches your expectations. Depending on your needs, we can provide design services in a loose and relaxed design–build style with very few drawings, or we can provide meticulously detailed, carefully coordinated, precise, thorough design documents so that nothing is left to chance. You can choose one working style or the other, or something in between. The style of working is selected based on matching your expectations surrounding the process and desired end product.
Carefully articulated pub – This elaborately detailed pub includes many layers of architectural detail that are highlighted with color and a faux finished metal ceiling.
Precision detailing – This fireplace and surround were carefully proportioned and detailed to blend with this historic Arts and Crafts period interior. The custom tile was fabricated by creating a full-scale template that outlined every piece of tile.
Inverted bay window created from architectural salvage – This inside out bay window, fabricated from donated architectural salvage, creates a rough and ready, oversize terrarium as a space for the mature oak tree to thrive in.
Ad hoc problem solving – Both the mature oak tree and this historic out building were saved, where originally it was thought that one or the other would have to be sacrificed. This was accomplished by cutting a notch in the building and installing salvaged church windows in an inverted bay window form. The out-building was converted into a summer artist studio.
